Michael van Uffelen
Director and Founder
Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia and is a Chartered Accountant. He has more than 25 years accounting and finance experience gained with major accounting firms, investment banks and public companies, both in Australia and internationally. Since 2010, Michael has focused on providing CFO, company secretarial and corporate finance services to companies in Australia. Through this experience, Michael identified the need for alternative and more cost effective way for companies to perform their accounting, bookkeeping and administration needs, which led to the establishment of Support Corp.
Director and Founder
Steve is an experienced marketer and entrepreneur. After starting a business process enterprise in the UK and Australia over 20 years ago, focused on telecom technologies, Steve’s experience in the business outsourcing sector continued to grow and evolve. He is the founder and managing director of a BPO company that specialises in providing custom offshore staffing solutions with advanced computer telephony applications designed to provide cost effective Customer Management, Web Presence and Administration Support. Steve co-founded Support Corp and brings specific knowledge of being able to leverage technology with human resources management in a productive and cost effective manner to the benefit of companies and businesses.

Do you have an actual office? Where is it located?
Yes. Support Corp’s office is based in Manila, Philippines. Our experienced staff are university graduate bookkeepers and accountants, while our Directors are located in Perth, Western Australia.
Does the staff from the Philippines speak English fluently?
Yes. English is the Philippines’ second language. Our employees are all university graduates with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
What are your standard working hours?
Our Bookkeepers, Accountants and Customer Service Team are here to support you Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Perth time and during Saturdays if required.
How do we contact you? And how do we communicate with the offshore bookkeeping and accounting team?

Once you have engaged our services, we will set up a dedicated email account for you and your staff to use for communicating with your assigned team.
We perform base accounting work in the Philippines. For more complex matters, our director from Perth, Michael van Uffelen is able to assist. Michael is an Australian Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years’ experience with Big 4 accounting firms, investment banks and public companies. Through the combination of skills and experience of our entire team, we are able to efficiently handle all your accounting requirements.
Do we have to buy any new software or hardware to send documents and files to the offshore bookkeeping and accounting team?
Documents and files can be securely shared between us electronically. We work with Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks. We can host an accounting system or a cloud based system can be used. If you need our assistance, to acquire and establish a system, we would be happy to do so.

What if I am not satisfied with your service, can I get a refund?
If we do not provide the services that we agree to, then we would refund the fees you have paid.
What if I’m not happy with the work of your staff, can I request a different team?
Yes, definitely. We can assign a different bookkeeper or accountant if you are unhappy with their output.
How can you assure the confidentiality of the files that we will be sharing with you?
Only the immediate team members have access to your data which is protected by user passwords. Our preferred accounting software is Xero, which is cloud based accounting software with Document management system. We can also support your business using MYOB and Quickbooks.
Won’t I lose control if the accounts are managed by Support Corp? Who owns my data?
The data Support Corp processes remains your property at all times. In addition to providing structured and agreed reporting, the cloud based accounting systems allow multiple users to access the data so that you always retain control. Hosted systems allow for backups which can be readily sent to you for peace of mind.
Can other people access my data?
You nominate who can access your data and we follow your instructions.
Who controls the overall financial and accounting offshore process?
Support Corp becomes a member of your team, under the control and direction of your nominated contact person. We would agree on the services that Support Corp will perform and the reports to be provided with you. Core elements of our service are standardised, but we can tailor fit our services to each client’s needs. Our team is structured with team members under the supervision of team leaders and our directors.
Who controls the money and makes the decisions?
You nominate the key liaison person and Support Corp follows their instructions in line with the engagement letter we agree. Money remains under your control. While we can assist with establishing payment runs, authorising payment runs remains under your control.
We’d like to get to know you and your business to understand your needs. Once we agree on the services we will send you an engagement letter.
How many people will be working on my company accounts?
Typically one bookkeeper and/ or one accountant is assigned to your accounts with a supervisor responsible for quality assurance. The supervisor will be directly reporting to our directors.
Do we have to end employment of all our accounts team once we engage your services?
We are happy to work alongside your existing personnel if required.
Is this a long term contract that we would need to sign?
The initial period is for two years and will automatically extend for subsequent periods of two years unless terminated by offering three months notice.
How do we pay you? And what are the terms?
As an Australian registered company, our account is with Bank West, West Perth. We ask for a security deposit to cover two months services and invoice monthly in arrears. Our preferred method by which to be paid is by bank transfer, but we also accept credit card payments and cheques.
